Boat and Yacht Captain Services

 

In addition to our on-the-water training and yacht brokerage services, we offer captain services for boat owners in Naples and Marco Island, Florida. If you own a boat and you’re tired of being at the helm while everyone else gets to relax, this is the service for you! If you’re looking for an occasional captain, our Daily Plan is probably right for you. But if you’re looking for a seasonal captain so that you can maximize your time in Naples and on the water, our Peak and Season plans will be your best choice.

 

The Daily Plan

The Daily Plan is the perfect solution for boat owners who want an occasional captain aboard the boat. Under the Daily Plan, you can choose any afternoon appointment (3pm-7pm) Monday through Saturday. The cost per appointment will be $500. The Daily Plan does not include any vessel management services. 

The Peak Plan

The Peak Plan is the right choice for vessel owners who want a professional captain during the peak season of January 1st through April 30th. The Peak Plan provides 10 hours of Captain Services per month at a 10% discount off our standard rate. The minimum monthly fee for this plan is $1,125. Under the Peak Plan, you can choose any afternoon appointment (3-7pm) or any full-day appointment (10am-4pm), Monday through Saturday. The Peak Plan does not include any vessel management services. 

The Season Plan

The Season Plan is the best solution for vessel owners who want a part-time, professional captain for their boat or yacht from November 1st through April 30th. The Season Plan includes 20 hours of Captain Services per month at a 20% discount off our standard rate. The minimum monthly fee for this plan is $2,000. Under the Season Plan, you can choose any morning appointment (9am-1pm), afternoon appointment (3-7pm), or any full-day appointment (10am-4pm), Monday through Sunday. The Season Plan also includes:

  • Vessel Management Plan: We will develop an initial plan and timeline for the services that your boat requires, in addition to managing the scheduling and coordination of the services.
  • Vessel Management Coordination: We work with your existing service providers or dealership to help keep your vessel in turn-key condition. We can also assist in finding the right service providers to get the job done.
  • No Price Markups: You pay all service providers directly which provides pricing transparency.
  • Sunday Availability: Sunday appointments (full-day 10am-4pm) are only available to Season Plan customers. 
  • Overnight Trips: Season Plan customers have the exclusive ability to book overnight and multi-day trips.

Is there a fee for Vessel Management Services?

Vessel Management is a complimentary service offered to customers who buy 20+ hours of captain services per month. We do not charge any fee for coordination of services with other professionals via phone or email, or the vessel management plan. The only time a fee will apply is when a captain must physically be present to assist a service provider, deliver the boat for service, etc. 

Is there a contract term for Peak and Season Plans?

Yes. Peak plans require a 4 month commitment from January through April, and Season plans require a 6 month commitment from November through April.

Are the scheduled times flexible?

Morning appointments (9am-1pm) and afternoon appointments (3pm-7pm) have very limited flexibility, especially during our busy season of November through April. Full-day appointments of 6 hours or more can be customized, as you will likely be the only customer on the calendar for that day. 

What is your Sunday availability?

We are closed on Sundays. However, we will make exceptions for Season Plan customers.

If I buy 10 or 20 hours of time and I don’t use them all, can I carry them over to the next month?

Absolutely NOT. Use them or lose them each month. 

If I buy 10 or 20 hours of time each month and need more, can I buy them?

Absolutely YES! We will add the additional time to your month-end invoice. The respective discount rate will also apply to the additional time. 

How is billing handled?

For Peak and Seasonal Plans, customers will receive an invoice at the end of each month for their respective 10 or 20 hour commitments, plus any overages. Invoice payments will be due within 15 days. Checks are the preferred method of payment so that fees can be avoided. If the customer chooses to pay with credit/debit, a 3.5% fee will be added to the invoice. Daily plan customers must pay their invoice in full at the conclusion of each appointment. 

What is your cancellation policy?

We don’t charge any cancellation fees or take deposits. Weather is the biggest (95%) reason for cancellations and reschedules, and there is nothing we can do to control that. We all have personal emergencies, sickness, or work obligations that can derail the best of plans. If cancellations become an issue, we will address that with the customer on an individual basis.
